WORK EXPERIENCE

Designed and implemented a series of visual programming systems called Visual Machines. These self-contained development environments allowed programmers to write code using a graphical language and to see every aspect of the program’s execution. 

2001-2003

Taught and developed a project-based curriculum for ninth grade mathematics and physics classes.
Created multiple custom educational software applications for use within the classroom.

Led the design and technical development of major interactive media installations for the National Museum of American History, the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, the Museum of Science & Industry, the Tenement Museum, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the National World War I Museum, the University of Pennsylvania, the Rhode Island School of Design, Bell Labs, HP, and the St Regis Hotel.

Developed the iPad App and web-based ideation and collaboration tool Popplet. Popplet is used in tens of thousands of schools around the world by students of all ages. The web-based version of Popplet has over 2.6M live boards and the iPad app has been downloaded over 3.2M times. Popplet has received numerous educational technology awards and has been featured by Apple in the AppStore on multiple occasions.

Led the design and development of an entirely new platform for retail product display that senses shopper interactions with physical products, tracks their behavior and reacts with dynamic digital media. The PERCH platform consists of proprietary PERCH hardware, PERCH Core Software and the PERCH Cloud for media distribution and analytics storage. PERCH received a 2013 DIGI award for Best Interactive Digital Signage Product for Retail. PERCH has been used by major brands and retailers including Kate Spade, Levi's, Cole Haan, La Mer, Kiehls, Dylan's Candy Bar and Verizon.
